Yellow Tropical Smoothie

I’m currently convinced that smoothies are the perfect snack. They are refuelling, refreshing, filling, take no time to make and can be suited to whatever flavours you feel like in the moment. This is the final (for now) instalment of my video collaboration with my sister. She makes awesome youtube videos about all things beauty and was looking to post a workout routine video to go with a recipe. In our discussions of our favourite post-workout snacks, smoothies were at the top of our lists: you get hydrated and full at the same time. Now that it’s warm outside, it’s also great for breakfast. I’ve been craving zesty, cooling smoothies instead of my go-to oatmeal these days.

Simply Blueberry Smoothie

Apples and hydrants and cheeks kissed with cold
A fire is flashing, a paint stroke is bold
Red is the booth from which you can phone
Red is iconic, red is alone
A cloudless sky at noon, a cloudless sky at night
The deep, deepest sea. Ink, spilled when you write
Blue is fresh, blue is cold
Time ticks by, as blue grows old
And then blue swirled with red and a new world was here
Of magic and starfish and a dream of a seer
A birth of a colour, of berries that stain

And we call it purple.
Even so, nothing rhymes with purple.

Orange, Sesame and Banana Smoothie

I used to be a cereal-only girl for weekday breakfasts. But, I can confidently say, that is no longer the case. Now, I am generally a cereal or smoothie or oatmeal breakfast lady. I think I can attribute this change to working from home. There is something nice about eating the same thing every morning that makes it so much easier, faster, and more predictable (in terms of how much food you have to bring to the office, what time you’re going to get hungry etc) when you’re working from an office; luckily, I don’t have to concern myself with consistency anymore.

Green Smoothie

Last week I was visiting a friend and she introduced me to this smoothie.I am totally a creature of habit when it comes to breakfast. It’s not that I’m against eating new things, I just always go back to my trusty bowl of cereal and fruit. So, when my friend asked me what kind of smoothie I wanted for breakfast I was super original and suggested banana and yogurt.
